FARM and ENVIRONMENT
Agriculture and the Environment:
- Jerry has returned to his roots as a farmer who grows field crops, wheat, corn, alfalfa, timothy, sudan, etc., on an 80 acre farm in Southern Yolo County. The farm is contracted in the Williamson Act ensuring that it remains in agriculture.
- A wildlife and farmland conservation program for the farm, including a tailwater pond for water conservation, windbreaks, and hedgerows with native grasses has been constructed. Part of the cost of construction of the project was funded by the Natural Resources Conservation Service of the U. S. Department of Agriculture. The project will significantly enhance soil conservation, water conservation and provide wildlife habitat.
- Jerry is a member of the:
- Yolo County Land Trust
- Yolo Basin Foundation
- Yolo County Farm Bureau
